Position Responsibilities

As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will:

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and evidence-based therapy goals
  • Provide high-quality speech-language therapy services
  • Complete documentation, progress reports, and care plans
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and multidisciplinary team members
  • Conduct parent interviews and provide family education
  • Monitor progress and modify treatment plans as needed
  • Maintain professional, ethical, and state licensing standards

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Current Georgia SLP license (or license eligibility)
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or Clinical Fellow (CFY)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Are you ready to be a changemaker? We are growing and looking to hire a Literacy Specialist.

The Literacy Specialist is a key lever for the success of our programs nationally. Literacy Specialists are members of our Professional Learning team and bring their depth of subject matter experience and passion for adult learning to support the effective delivery of professional learning programs with educators throughout the country. Professional learning is delivered either in person in schools and classrooms, or virtually, and includes both the delivery of professional learning sessions and job-embedded coaching in classrooms. This role requires frequent travel (up to 70%) to schools and classrooms around the country, along with required attendance at company and departmental meetings. This position is primarily based out of the employee’s own home office when not in schools and classrooms with customers.

Essential Job Functions

  • Delivers Apex Ascent Coaching Framework professional learning programs for teachers and school faculty as part of implementation plans to ensure fidelity, support instruction, and strengthen student results, provided in person or virtually through Teams or Zoom
  • Travels to training sites as needed, up to 70% or more as designated by assignments
  • Works closely and professionally with school-based administrators to schedule professional learning services following the Coaching Framework
  • Maintains close and effective working relationships with the Literacy Specialist team, Literacy Advisors, and Customer Success teams, operating as a team player to build awareness and excitement for our products and services with leaders and educators
  • Shares regular updates regarding school-based assignments with the team and manager
  • Provides instructor-led workshops and study group meetings in alignment with effective coaching frameworks
  • Facilitates goal setting with teachers during coaching and Facilitator certification visits
  • Provides virtual support via the Apex Ascent Virtual Connections Platform following guidelines
  • Consults as needed with former and current participants enrolled in professional learning programs
  • Answers program and instruction inquiries from teachers, parents, and others as assigned by Customer Support
  • Schedules travel, completing and submitting monthly expense reports
  • Updates all stakeholders and in-house systems regarding professional learning delivery assignments
  • Regularly attends and participates in company, department, and team meetings via phone, web, or in person
  • Completes all assigned work in a timely and professional manner
  • Represents the organization at conferences and exhibits across the country as needed
  • Works closely with the Professional Learning Manager to continually enhance and align presentation, virtual implementation sessions, and coaching skills to current guidelines
  • Keeps abreast of educational trends and activities in prevention, intervention, and remedial/dyslexic support, K-12 and adult
  • Understands and displays organizational values
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements & Experience

  • Two or more years of classroom teaching; extensive training will be provided using the Apex Ascent Coaching Framework
  • Able to travel nationwide as needed, up to 70% or more as designated by assignments
  • Willing to participate in onboarding coaching and ongoing training requirements as needed
  • Working knowledge of Science of Reading pedagogy and excellence in teaching structured literacy; knowledge of Implementation Science a plus
  • Outstanding presentation and learner engagement skills
  • Experience instructing, guiding, and mentoring educational professionals and presenting to adults
  • Strong, consistent communication with management
  • Able to work with both teachers and students, and provide constructive feedback
  • Able to handle multiple assignments and projects with strong scheduling, communication, and organizational skills
  • Able to work individually and as a team member
  • Experience working with school administrators a plus

Education or Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field (or equivalent work experience), required
  • Master’s degree in education or a related field (or equivalent work experience), preferred
  • Concentration in English or Reading a plus
